  2. The script balances clarity, listening, evidence, and human dignity.
  3. A rehearsal partner provides feedback from the recipient’s perspective.
  4. Delivery is followed by evidence-based reflection and a next move.
IMPLEMENTATION STEPS
01

Frame the moment

Clarify the purpose, stakes, audience, power dynamics, evidence, and desired next condition.

02

Script the critical moves

Draft the opening, evidence, questions, acknowledgment, request or decision, and close.

03

Rehearse and revise

Practice aloud with a partner who tests tone, clarity, likely responses, and unintended impact.

04

Deliver and study

Conduct the moment, capture response evidence, and identify the follow-through needed.

REFLECTION PROMPTS
  • Did my delivery match my stated purpose?
  • What did I learn from the other person’s response?
  • Which part of the move needs more practice rather than more explanation?
EQUITY GUARDRAILS
  • Rehearsal must not become a strategy for controlling or manipulating another person’s response.
  • Account for positional power, psychological safety, and the recipient’s right to process or disagree.
  • Use appropriate formal supports for high-risk, legal, personnel, or safety matters.
