ARTIFACTCulture cue script + weekly practice plan
SUCCESS CRITERIA
  1. The cue connects a specific moment to a named cultural commitment.
  2. Language is concise, natural, and paired with leader behavior.
  3. The cue reinforces meaning without becoming a slogan.
  4. The leader identifies where and how often to practice it.
IMPLEMENTATION STEPS
01

Choose the moment

Identify a recurring interaction where clarity about the cultural norm would shape behavior.

02

Name the commitment

Clarify the value or behavior the cue should make visible and why it matters in that moment.

03

Script word and action

Create one short phrase and one matching leadership behavior or question.

04

Practice and study

Use the cue across a week and record responses, misunderstandings, and needed refinements.

REFLECTION PROMPTS
  • Does the cue clarify behavior or merely repeat a value word?
  • Can different leaders use it authentically?
  • When would silence or listening be the stronger cultural cue?
EQUITY GUARDRAILS
  • Cues should not manipulate emotion or suppress disagreement.
  • Model the norm before asking others to embody it.
  • Adapt language for culture, role, disability, and communication needs.
